Question || What is the difference between Plans & Maps?

Answer:

i). Both are the graphical representation of the features on a horizontal plane.

ii). Plan is a large scale representation whereas, Map is a small scale representation.

As stated in the definition of surveying the objective of measurements is to show relative positions of various objects on paper. Such representations on paper is called plan or map.

A plan may be defined as the graphical representation of the features on, near or below the surface of the earth as projected on a horizontal plane to a suitable scale.

However, since the surface of the earth is curved and that of the paper is plane, no part of the earth can be represented on such maps without distortion. If the area to be represented is small, the distortion is less and large scale can be used. Such representations are called plans. Introduction:

Surveying may be defined as the method of making measurements of the relative positions of, natural & man-made features on earth’s surface and the presentation of this information either graphically or numerically.

Design & Construction:

The bridge is 125 meters long, and 1.8 meters wide (the middle section has a wider walkway), with two steel railings as well as steel wire mesh on either sides. It is designed as a curved walkway to maximise the viewing experience, providing shifting perspective as a visitor walks along the bridge. The walkway, formed of steel and concrete panels set on top of an inverted triangular truss, connects two hilltops at Gunung Mat Chinchang. The first 25m of the bridge is straight, following 3 curved 25m sections, then a final straight 25m section.

Plastic roads are different from standard roads in the respect that standard roads are made from asphalt concrete, which consists of mineral aggregates and asphalt.

Chemical Composition of Raw Materials | CEMENT

The three basic constituents of hydraulic cements are Lime, Silica-alumina and Iron-oxide.
The relative proportions of these oxide compositions are responsible for influencing the various properties of cement.
An increase in lime content beyond a certain value makes it difficult to combine completely with other compounds.
Consequently, free lime will exist in the clinker and will result in the unsound cement. An increase in silica content at the expense of alumina and ferric -oxide makes the cement difficult to fuse and form clinker.
The approximate limits of chemical composition in cement are given in table.
